How to finance your generator
Following a site survey, our installer will supply you with your quote for the installation. When you accept the quote you may be asked for a deposit of up to 50% of the cost - this is to secure your order with the generator manufacturer. The balance will be due after the installation is complete.
The good news is that there is help available to finance your microgeneration project:
Grants
The Low Carbon Buildings Programme (LCBP), launched in April 2006, provides grants of up to £2500 for householders to install microgeneration, provided you have already undertaken a number of energy efficiency measures. Click
here for more information.
The LCBP grants are administered by the Energy Saving Trust (EST) and you can apply via their website. By applying online, you will get an instant response. Once your generator has been installed, your installer will give you a completion certificate, which you will need to submit to the EST to receive your grant. Once you have received an offer there is a time limit for each technology to be installed.
Your local authority may also provide top up grants for installing microgeneration, which can be as much as £1000 so it is well worth visiting your their website or calling them to find out what they offer. For more information click
here.
- Loans
To help you finance the balance of the costs, we have formed a partnership with Zopa, a ‘social lending' organisation that matches individual lenders with borrowers. You should be able to secure a loan with a reasonable interest rate and transparent contract terms. For more information click here.
