Good Energy’s mission has always been to make it easier for people concerned about climate change to make a difference.

We started by supplying the greenest electricity money can buy. In just 10 years more than 25,000 customers have signed up to 100% renewable electricity. Where 100% means everything – no fossil fuels or nuclear in our fuel mix.

Being some of the greenest people around, our customers were among the first people in the UK to start generating their own renewable energy from wind, water and sunlight, and they wanted to get paid for it. So we created Good Energy HomeGen, an award-winning scheme which supports existing generators and encourages new generation by paying people a top market rate for their electricity, even the units they use themselves.

Today we support over 650 independent renewable generators of all shapes and sizes. We also reward people for generating heat through Good Energy HotROCs, the UK’s first Renewable Heat Incentive.

The growth of renewables is beginning to gather speed but we can do much, much more! We’ve created Generate Your Own Good Energy to help people who want to make a difference to climate change and reduce their dependence on big companies and fossil fuels, by giving them the tools they need to make their own clean, green energy.

We’ll start by advising you on the right renewable technology for your home. We’ll recommend a suitable, certified installer and we will sell you a suitable, accredited system. We’ll inform you about the grants which may be available and we can even help you secure an ethical loan to help finance your generator. And finally, we’ll pay you a top market rate for all the energy you generate.
